The development of a plant research facility at the Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR) has been the aim since we in cooperation with CESRF delivered the 2015 MAPS Pilot system to KISR. Intravision was in 2017 preselected as the technology provider to this new institute, and contributed together with CESRF, University of Guelph with the infrastructure data towards the new building facility at the KISR location in Kuwait City. As part of this project a research cooperation contract has been developed between KISR and the University of Guelph.
The facility is designed with 3 growth chambers, each with 7 of the 3-layer MAPS systems, each bench 2m by 1,2m.
Each bench is outfitted with a high intensity and water cooled 6-channel LED light system which is integrated in-between a top-town air and moisture management system. The temperature and moisture control of each chamber is controlled by a water-powered air-dehumidification system tailored for this application by Desert Air.
